NIA raids PFI offices in 10 states, 100 arrested

News Daily Digital Desk: A major step in countering terrorism. National investigation agency NAIA is conducting operations across the country. Investigators have so far arrested 100 members of the Muslim fundamentalist outfit Popular Front of India (PFAI) on multiple charges, including providing money to militants.

According to news agency ANI, the NIA has raided several offices of the Popular Front in Tamil Nadu. Central intelligence conducted raids in Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Ramnad, Dindigole, Theni and Thenkasi. A search was also conducted at the PFI head office in Chennai NIA (NIA) and Enforcement Directorate (ED). Not only this, central investigators have also conducted raids at the houses and offices of state and district level leaders of the Popular Front in Kerala. Rape is also going on in Assam, Bihar, Maharashtra and West Bengal.

Meanwhile, the NIA is protesting on the streets against the raid Popular Front. In a statement, the organization complained that they are being harassed unnecessarily. The government is using central agencies to quell protests. They have no connection with any militant organization. However, this claim of PFI is not as strong as analysts think. Because, earlier this organization is accused of communal violence in several parts of the country. They are accused of providing financial support to jihadists and proselytizing.

It should be noted that PFI is alleged to be behind the communal violence in Bengaluru in 2020. They are also accused of inciting violence in Uttar Pradesh against the Citizenship Amendment Act. In 2021, an eviction campaign in Assam claimed that the PFI was involved in instigating attacks against the police by squatters.
