Somnath Roy, New Delhi: Opposition parties are active in strengthening the anti-BJP alliance in national politics. That is why Nitish Kumar and Sonia Gandhi are going to meet after seven years. It is said that this meeting will be held to strengthen opposition unity with a bird’s eye view of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Incidentally, a few days ago Nitish broke the BJP alliance and formed the government in Bihar with the support of the Congress. Since then, his name was coming up as a prime ministerial candidate in the 2024 elections.

According to sources, Lalu and Nitish wanted this meeting Rahul GandhiO (Rahul Gandhi) stay. But he will not be able to attend this meeting as he is busy with the India Joro Yatra. However, Nitish met Rahul earlier this month. Addressing a party meeting on Wednesday, Lalu Prasad said, “I and Nitish Kumar will go together to meet Soniaji. I will also meet Rahul Gandhi when the march is over. If the opposition unites, the BJP can be defeated in the next Lok Sabha elections.” According to sources, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav may also go to meet Sonia.

A few days ago, during the presidential election, the opposition parties unitedly fielded candidates, but the lack of understanding between them became evident. The split in the opposition unity became apparent during the announcement of the candidates for the vice-presidential election. Several parties, including the Trinamool, were outraged that the Congress had nominated Margaret Alva as a candidate without consulting all parties. All in all, the opposition alliance is not in a good shape before the Lok Sabha elections. It is not possible to face the BJP without proper preparation in advance, the opposition parties are entering the field to strengthen the alliance.

However, the question is also raised about why the meeting with Sonia. It has already been announced that no member of the Gandhi family will hold the post of Congress President. Shashi Tharoor is emerging as the next Congress president Ashok Gehlot name Experts feel that the Congress is taking such steps to tarnish the image of the family system. But indirectly the power of the party will be in the hands of Sonia-Rahul, it is also quite clear. After Sonia’s meeting with Lalu-Nitish came to light, the influence of nepotism in Congress has become stronger again.
